In the winter, I always chose the seat closest to the window in the front room. That window would catch the earliest light, even on the coldest mornings, when the sun felt more like a suggestion than a promise.

I’d sit there holding my coffee, watching the street as it slowly came alive. Snow had a way of softening everything—the rumble of passing cars, the subtle footsteps of people heading to work, and even the distant hum of the town waking up.

Real update messages usually come from your device itself—not a random pop-up in your browser. For example, updates for Windows appear through Windows Update, and Apple devices use Software Update in Settings. If you see a message while browsing the internet that says something like “Your computer is infected—update now,” close the tab immediately. Do not click anything inside the pop-up.

A safe rule: never update software through a website ad or unexpected message. Instead, go directly to your device’s settings. On a Windows computer, you can follow the official steps here. On an iPhone or iPad, use Apple’s guide.

Also, legitimate updates will never ask for payment or personal information. If a message requests a credit card or password to “complete” an update, it is not real.
